Blackwood Interchange Bus Station 

This new bus station is a central part of a multi million pound regeneration package currently taking place in Blackwood. The project combined civil engineering and building construction works and involved the demolition of the existing two storey bus station and the construction of a totally new single storey bus station interchange on the same site.

The Architect’s design of the building is the product of his extensive research of U.K. best practice in the design of recently completed transport sector projects. The result is a strikingly modern building which creates cover and enclosure with glazed walls and automatic doors providing the best possible visibility and accessibility for passengers and drivers. The new station provides a more welcoming, modern passenger environment and is an attractive gateway to Blackwood.

The facilities include 9 sheltered waiting bays and a heated waiting lobby for passengers, a café, a rest room for bus drivers and attendant-managed fully accessible public conveniences and baby changing facilities.
